Deconstruction: When Faith Stops Working

WSD

BEN STERNKE & MATT TEBBE

Christians are arguing over what deconstruction means, why it happens, whether it’s good or bad, and what to do about it. Our experience is that most people who are in some kind of “deconstruction” process are looking for a way IN to faith, not a way OUT, and so the answer is not to find a way BACK to something you lost, but rather a way FORWARD into something new.

In this workshop, we will discuss how to move THROUGH deconstruction, offering building blocks for moving into a more flexible, resilient faith from the ashes of an old paradigm that doesn’t work anymore.

If you or someone you know has experienced a disruption in how they make sense of faith, this workshop will offer practical, accessible tools for reconstructing a Christian spirituality centered in God’s love that can be good news for the world.
